Unexpected Bridal Accessory Trends for Spring 2022 You Did Not Know About

A Bride must have some accessories to wear walking down the isle on her big day. Similar to what I talked about in the Spring 2022 Wedding Dress Trends post, the accessory trends for Spring 2022 follow the look of non-traditional and unconventional, as nothing is really off-limits this season. There are still nods to the traditional past, but they all have needed updates to make them fresh and exciting again. Drop earrings, for example, were simple, dangly earrings, but now are bold and glamorous statement pieces.

Here are the 7 biggest accessory trends of Spring 2022

Birdcage Veils

This is the freshened up style of a veil that is so effortless that many designers incorporated them into their designs on the runway. The short veil is meant to sit over your face like a cage and is for the cool-girl bride who is having a casual or intimate celebration. For the bride who does not want a long veil, then this one is for you.

Hair Bows

Bows have been around a long time on wedding gowns, but not in the bride’s hair. This innovative accessory proves to be more versatile than you think. No matter your bridal style, incorporate a bow into your wedding day look.

Hair Clips

Don’t like the boldness of a hair bow? No problem, but I would try some hair clips. From pearl barrettes, floral fasteners, these are perfect to pull up your hair after you take off your veil after the ceremony in preparation for the reception.

Capes

We have all seen celebrities wear capes on the red carpet, but now you can actually wear one on your wedding day. These are not your typical wedding day garments as they come covered in lace, embroidery, sequined, and even with hoods.

Gloves

When I think of gloves, I think of sophistication and fanciness. This older but traditional notion of wearing gloves on your wedding day is making its way back into bridal fashion. These now come in different fabric variations and lengths from short to long, while being made with solid or sheer fabric.

Chandelier Drop Earrings

These are for the bride who loves accessories and wants to be bold and make a statement. These could steal the show on your dress, so make sure these go with the look of your overall wedding gown to make it come all together.

Unconventional

I was not kidding when I mentioned unconventional accessories. Things like peal sunglasses, blue booties, chunky diamond chokers, and lace tights were seen on the runway from well-established designers.

Which trend, if any, will you choose to wear on your wedding day? Will you go the traditional route or be different and be more modern and unconventional?
