There are so many different options to choose from when deciding on the bustle you want for your wedding day. Depending on the style of gown and the type of bustle<\/a> you want, there are many options to choose from. Some options include a wrist bustle, hooks and eyes, or bustle loops with buttons. The bustle style will make all the difference. It will hold up the bulk of your train and determine what will be comfortable wearing all day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrist Bustle <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The wrist bustle is unlike the other bustle types because it does not tuck or hide the train. It makes the train part of the dress. This is great for brides who have a delicate lace or lightweight fabric on their wedding down. No one wants to rip the dress because of the delicate fabric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ribbons <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you choose the French or Ballroom bustle, ribbons will hang inside the lining. The outer layer of the wedding dress will tie together with ribbons inside. This results in the flipping of layers up, making the hem shorter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ask your seamstress to mark the corresponding ribbons and loops. You want to tie the ribbons correctly together in their placement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hook and Eye <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Common attachment tools used on dresses to securely fasten the closure shut. Usually, hooks are attached near the bottom of the zipper on the back of the dress while the eyes are sewn to several places along the train. There are usually typically 3-6 spots for eyes on the back of the dress. The eyes are placed on the hooks and holds the bustle up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From a seamstress perspective, it is vital to attach the eyes to a lace applique or flowers to keep the fabric from ripping of the weight of layers. The extra support makes all the difference!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bustle Loop with Buttons <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A thin white thread loop installed in various places throughout the train of the wedding dress. Buttons are installed to loop around the buttons to bring the train up off the ground. Most times, the thread loop is sewn in the middle of tulle or organza fabric with no added support of a lace applique or flower. As a result, the loop and underneath fabric rip where the loop rests around the button. Ask your seamstress<\/a> to install any bustle loops on lace or flowers to prevent this from happening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
