In the past NCAA Football season an immense amount of talk has surrounded Colorado and the rebranding of the buffalo’s football team. Much like Coach DiDo, but in a less redemptive manner, Colorado is on the come up in college football. The rebranding of CU stems from Sanders’ fame in the NFL but is ultimately backfiring.

The sales strategy going into the ‘23 season was all built on the hype Coach Prime brought to Colorado. This selling strategy could be seen plastered in every campus store, football enthusiast shop, all throughout the NCAA. The last name “Sanders” brought a lot of attention to the football program and for a long time was a great way to boost sales and bring in immense amounts of profit and college football prospects.

The failure in his method is found in the mimicry of his original plan at CU. Prime came into the program using his name as a selling point, and now, members of the football team who seek to play on a team with a winning record are using the same name to establish their credibility and find other opportunities. Sales is not always in a traditional sense but can often be displayed in the selling of oneself and the use of well-known names and faces.

  1. Watching Colorado’s football team was very exciting. Prime Time was able to put Colorado football on the map with his entrepreneurship skills.

  2. Coach Prime has been changing the way people look at coaching and I think a lot of people are unsure of his approach still. I think his perspective could be the refreshing taste Colorado’s program needs, but no one can tell at this point.

  3. You see this happen quite often, people always assume if you are great at something you can teach others to be great at the same thing. However, to possess this skill you truly need to dig deep to find the keys that you used to obtain this success, and remember that times are always changing and in Coach Prime’s case the game is not the same as it once was.
