Dwight Buys Andy’s Xterra For Less Than Worth

In this short clip, Dwight shows his ability of salesmanship. Dwight makes Andy think that his car is worth less than he is currently selling for, $8,700. He gives options for his “crap car.” Dwight says “You can sell it for parts, drive it off a cliff, you can donate it to a person who you’d like to see die in a car crash, or you can sell it to me and I’ll use it as I would a wagon on my farm. It will be towed by a donkey.” Dwight then pushes and pushes until Andy thinks he’s making the right choice by selling it to Dwight fro $1,500 under the asking price. Andy thinks that he is making a good deal based on what Dwight said, and this is why Dwight shows his great sales ability, although he is the one buying. What Dwight does next makes him seem even smarter and makes Andy seem pretty dumb.

Dwight Sells The Xterra For More Than He Bought It For

After Dwight has the car, he then puts up posters that the Xterra is for sale at $9,995. The price is more than Andy was even selling originally. Andy sees this and flips out at Dwight, but Dwight has none of it. Dwight just tells Andy that he is really stupid for selling it to him for that cheap and its Andy’s own fault, “Seller Beware.” This makes Dwight seem like a very good salesman. Dwight will now make profit off of something he never even intended to use, just bought it to sell it for more.

  1. This is a really funny example of a pushy salesman and a really different example of a sale, because here the roles of salesman vs. buyer are reversed. In this case, Dwight as the buyer is acting as the salesman and the seller or salesman Andy, is hesitant typically like a buyer would be towards the seller. But as always, Dwight never breaks character and here especially does an amazing job. 🙂
