Visible. It’s a phone service in an app. Unlike traditional phone companies, Visible uses social media and word of mouth to sell their service. Also unlike traditional phone companies, they have no brick and mortar stores, nor any sales people. They make the best out the resources they have and sell using as little resources as possible. An because of having no storefronts or sales people to pay for they are able to have a price much lower than that of other services. They even have their own branded smart phone that is cheaper than most of the other smartphones on the market.

Visible also has promotion offers and give aways on a monthly basis for current and potential customers. Their ability to sell is not based on what they have learned about a specific person but their services are based off of the complaints of other service holders. One big one would be that they do not hold 2 year contracts, if you do not want the service for a particular month you just don’t pay.

Their best sales people, though, are their customers. They give good services so that their customers can tell their friends and family about the simplicity of their product.

  1. This is a really cool business! They found the perfect balance between doing as little as possible while still selling their products. I think it is really cool that their customers do the work for them and that they “sell” based on what they don’t do compared to other companies. Great post!

  2. This is definitely a new way of viewing phone servicing providing. I think it fits a certain live style the modern culture is promoting and it saves people money which is always a huge selling point. I have never heard of this company, but i can see it becoming very successful if their word-of-mouth promotion continues to stir up new cliental.

  3. Interesting blog post. I have never heard of “Visible” before, but I am intrigued by their business model. I like how they utilizing their customers in their marketing efforts. In some cases, testimonials and references are the most effective way to promote a brand or product.
