Now that you’ve heard all about  my past jobs, I suppose I should share what they all taught me and how they led me to what I will be doing this summer.

In just a few days I will be heading to North Carolina to  intern with a Chamber of Commerce. The biggest things that I have learned from all of my previous jobs and the classes I have taken at Grove City, is that I love to organize. Detail work is for me. Since I know that, I intentionally searched for an internship that would allow me to work with those skills. I wasn’t sure what I would end up doing, and honestly I still don’t! I’m walking into the internship not knowing what they will have me doing, or how intense it will be, but I know that since I have experience in so many different areas from previous jobs, I will be able to “sell myself” enough to do the job that needs done!

This past semester, I had the opportunity to TA, and I did mostly “administrative” work, logging things, keeping track of who has turned in what, and what assignments are due next. I thrived while doing it! I’m so thankful that I will be able to walk into my internship this summer with the knowledge that I can accomplish both outright selling, but also the admin side of a business. I hope that I have the chance to practice both of those skills, and with what we learned in this class, I have thought a lot more about how I can connect with people through sales. TA-ing I think ended up being God’s way of confirming what I have learned from my previous jobs, and what I know of myself and about what I would want out of a job. I am so thankful to have had all the experiences I have had, and I can’t wait to see how God provides me with opportunities to use the skills I learned over the past few years, and especially this past semester.
