In many business to business sales pitches, a presentation of some sort is involved. Many times the quality of the presentation can be the deciding factor of if a sale is made or not. To ensure that the presentation is of high quality and will help close the sale, there a some techniques that one can follow to ensure this. The first technique is make sure the audience is participating. This can be done through asking questions, interacting with them, maintaining a proximity with them, and by saying their names  when directing questions or remarks. The second technique, which flows in line with the first, is product demonstration. This involves practicing, preparing, and pivoting when necessary. Rehearsing the demonstration is key in order to minimize what could go wrong and to ensure that you are prepared for when things take an unexpected turn. Lastly, a key technique for presenting is to have the right visuals. A good reminder is to think, “Billboard Effect.” Make sure the message is clear and easy to understand in just a few second. It is important to visualize one’s info with charts, graphs, and diagrams. Tell the story being told without overwhelming the customer. Doing all these things during a sales pitch will help effectively sell one’s product in an effective and professional manner.

I like how you mentioned “tell the story”. people are made to engage with stories so leveraging this natural instinct can be exceedingly helpful for engaging your audience, even if they tend to be quite distractible. once you have their attention every other aspect of your presentation can really shine.
