“B2C” or business to consumer sales, is the concept of a business selling its products directly to individual consumers. Because B2C businesses are selling to individual businesses, the products they sell tend to be lower price-value than B2B sales and have less of a streamlined sales path, involving multiple deals and many customers. This also means that these individual customers will buy one or a few products rather than in bulk. In the digital world, B2C sales is easier than ever as there is no longer a requirement of a brick-and-mortar store to sell to the customer, and the producing business can sell worldwide. The most common types of B2C sales online are direct sales, online intermediaries, advertising based B2C, community-based sales, and fee-based (subscription).
