I learned a lot from coach didonatos lecture. The biggest thing that I took away from the lecture was trying to actually learn, work for, and help the person that you are selling to. It almost makes it seem like you are not even selling to them at all at that point. Coach DiDonato emphasized that successful salespeople are not just pushing a product or service, they are problem-solvers who prioritize their clients’ best interests. This means taking the time to ask thoughtful questions, actively listen, and provide solutions that align with the client’s goals. When done correctly, the process feels less like a sales pitch and more like a natural conversation. The client doesn’t feel pressured; instead, they feel heard, valued, and supported. This approach resonated with me because it aligns with how trust is built in any relationship. Whether in business, sports, or everyday life, people appreciate when others take the time to understand them and offer genuine help. If I apply this mindset in my future career, I believe I will be more successful, not just in sales, but in building long-term relationships with clients. Coach DiDonato’s lecture reinforced the idea that the best way to sell is not to sell at all, but to serve. This also reaffirms the Christian approach to life. We are created to be servants to one another. So, if you think about it, that still applies to the sales realm and during your employment. We must always think how we can serve others, even when it might not be in our best interest. Serving others will also help build trust from clients, and this may result in more sales. All in all, it is important to remember to put your clients needs ahead of yours when selling something to them, or they will not trust you as easily.

  1. I really enjoyed this reflection about Coaches talk in one of our last classes. I love that he focused so much on building a trusting relationship with a client not just a business relationship with a client from a secular viewpoint. I think that one of the most influential and key takeaway points we need to take away from his lecture is as follows: TRUST = ABILITY = INTENT

  2. These are some very interesting take aways from Coach’s lecture. I like how you connected the way of sales through serving to the Christian approach. This just reinforces that Jesus was the ultimate sales man.
