To be honest, when I was selling insurance, I had very little trouble setting meetings. I took too many phone meetings and did not have a lot of in-person meetings and that was not good, but all in all when it came time to set meetings, I set them. I set 27 in a week one week and kept most of them but this came with other problems. The real problem was people acting all nice and chummy on the phone, and then no showing me on the day of our meeting. This became too often of an occurrence and became extremely frustrating to me because I had thought that I had a full week and then 75% of those meetings no showed me. I hated it and ended up talking to my boss about it. He actually said that it was normal for that to happen but that it happens in waves. Basically, some weeks can be great and you keep all your meetings or they can all no show you. It was very hard for me to accept that at first because I have always operated under the principle that if I agree to meet somewhere, then I will follow through with that meeting even if I have no intention of actually doing any business with the person that I am meeting with. It was surprising to me that so many people decided to no show people when it came to the business setting. It was even more surprising and a little hurtful when people that I had known for awhile started to block my number instead of just asking for me to not call them about my business again. One time, it happened out of nowhere. I had known the guy a year, he agreed to meet with me, then outta nowhere he blocked my number. It was shocking and hurtful, but that was my welcome to the real world moment.
