Back in high school, we had a partnership with Gucci. The partnership was kind of random, at least to me because I had no desire to work for Gucci. however, there was one club that I participated in during my sophomore year. An old friend of mine was designing that year and wanted me to model his pieces. I was excited thinking I would be wearing something fitted to my exact measurements, my makeup would go with my undertone.
Some of this was true, but I ended up having eyeshadow being extremely dark and my hair was slicked back to the point I had a minor facelift. I never go to see the final result of the outfit until one-week before the fashion show. It was a fuzzy vest that barley fit over my shoulders with a matching skirt that was suffocating my hips. It was incredibly difficult to walk in heels when you are restricted in an outfit that makes you look like a teddy bear.
At the time, I had no clue Gucci was there taking notes. I could barely see the audience since I was being blinded by lights, and I didn’t have my glasses. Apparently, Gucci was sitting front row and saw the way I was struggling to walk across the stage. By the end of the show, I changed back into my regular clothes and expressed that I thought the audience was very small and thought there would be more people. My friend laughed and said Gucci representatives were watching taking notes on each design.
In a way I was selling myself to a luxury brand. Well, more like the outfit I was in.

Thats crazy. If you were closer to college age, perhaps you should have given them your LinkedIn or something. Not gonna lie your friend did you dirty. I hope the next time you have to model designer clothes it fits right!
This was an interesting story and a cool way to look at sales abstractly. Also I agree with the previous comment; Your friend did you dirty.
It is technically sales. You should have gotten a brand deal out of this. They robbed you. Also very interesting to know that Gucci partners with people like this.
