In today’s episode of Luke talks about sales we are gonna be talking about how the school doesn’t excellent job and selling itself to potential students. You might be asking yourself how am I qualified to talk about something like this. Well it’s because the school once sold me to come here. It’s almost like yesterday I was walking around this campus and it was pouring rain and freezing cold looking at the amazing architecture and they also amazing things this school offers. You don’t just have to sell products you could also sell experiences and educations like this school does I would even go as far as saying this school sells ideas more than it sells a diploma at the end of the day. You can refer back to my older blog series where I talk about how selling ideas can be more difficult than selling a product. Because products are tangible, And ideas are purely figments of someone’s imagination. So how does this school sell to its students and potential students? It sells by trying to create a legitimate relationship between it’s students potential students and faculty. It does not try to oversell you or overhype you on potential experiences you might have potentially in your four years at grove. but tries to find what you’re looking for and attempting to see if Grove City college of Grove City PA of western Pennsylvania can solve those issues. One example of asking good questions is while on tours the tour guides do their best on trying to ask questions about their family and what they care about. You could learn a lot about someone by asking them what they care about in their family getting to know your client is the most important thing in a sales conversation it’s not your product or idea that you’re selling it’s the person you’re selling to so get to know them Grove City got to know me they found out what I wanted and they somewhat gave it to me I wanted to build relationships amongst other Christian people and challenge myself in and out of the classroom. I also wanted a fraternity to hang out with. Overall the school does a great job in showing us how to sell an idea. They care about their prospective students just as they would care for their own family my goal in life is to attain this perspective on selling my client is not an opportunity but someone I care about.

  1. I really like how you have sent up a whole blogs that reoccurs rather than a one off blog post. I also like how you took a look into how grove city sells because as students here we all bought an education here at grove city.

  2. It is interesting looking back on how Grove City College sold me as a junior/senior in high school. As a sophomore in high school, I didn’t know where I was going to school but I did know I was NOT going to Grove City. My parents and my grandfather went here, and I refused to follow in their footsteps just because. Grove City really had to sell me, and to do so they had to find out what I wanted in a college even when I didn’t know what I wanted. They accomplished this by really taking the time to get to know who I was, and in the end I was sold.

  3. great post. I think that grove city uses their christian ideas and great community to truely do it and i think it is awesome.
