I love the similarities between dating and sales and now that I am currently creating a company, Meet Cute, it is imperative to notice the differences to better support people in the dating field and help create genuine connections.

The process in both are very similar as well, there is the chase followed up by a series of casual dates, and eventually leading up to a commitment or a contract. The key in all of this is building trust and rapport and being genuine, vulnerable, and truly investing time into each of them that makes each successful.

The glaring comparison lies in the process:

  1. I would definitely agree that the act of dating and selling share many common themes. I think an underrated aspect of both dating and selling is that a relationship in sales and dating is like a living organism that needs to be consistently nurtured and fed. Time and effort play a large role in allowing the relationship to be sustained for longer periods of time.
