Jeff Horning gets groovy at Priority Motorsports

As I was scrolling through tik tok, I came across this hilarious car salesman. The trend it was posted under was “What’s a video that lives in your head rent free?” I understand why one would think about this commercial more often than they wish. It is absolutely hilarious as this man tries to relate to the youth.

The song he remixes is out of date as we sit here today but it was one of the hottest songs in 2015. Silento’s hit “Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)” is a song to forget. Jeff Horning is trying to relate to the younger generation. This song is popular among the youth and he did his spin on it. After his singing and dancing in his classic car salesman dress shirt and aviator shades, he says “Transportation for every generation.”

Personally, I think the commercial is hilarious and I would be more inclined to do business with this guy. I really would like to meet him because he seems like a fun guy to be around. He does a good job of getting his point across. He found his target audience as the younger generation and he is aware of their needs. He mentions $0 down and 0% interest because he knows younger people with less money will enjoy these things. He is communicating the solution. He chooses to communicate through singing and dancing, which may have been a bad idea. This commercial is one that may be stuck in your head, but this doesn’t always mean it’ll get our guy Jeff Horning any more business. Less than two years after this was released, the dealership was shut down because they owed over $600,000 in sales taxes. I also found that Jeff has a degree in music performance which is very fitting.

I thought this example of a used car salesman fits well with our class. My biggest takeaway is that it isn’t always the best idea to completely relate to your customer because you may end up being mocked online for years to come.

  1. Funny post. This really goes to show that taking a risk/being bold in your sales approach can be very hit or miss. It’s good to consider the pros and cons.
