Can you sell without words? How much can a person sell with just a few pictures and a paragraph? Welcome to the wonderful world of SidelineSwap. This incredible site is an online market, where athletes can sell their possessions from the comfort of their own home. It is basically a sports-centered yard sale for the entire country. So how can anyone gain an edge over the thousands of competitors?? There are tiny nuances of SidelineSwap that can catch certain people’s eyes. Things such as competitive pricing and shipping, distance from buyer to seller, and even the quality of pictures can help move the sale along. I can speak from firsthand experience that all of the aforementioned pieces to online sales have helped me sell some of my own things on this site. I have sold a pretty large amount of used lacrosse gear on SidelineSwap and can confidently say that when I overshot on my pricing because I got cocky, or, when I was younger, the pictures I took of my gear were sub-par at best. The older I got, my sales increased because I finally started to understand these nuances. My pictures got better, my pricing became not only competitive but truly successful, and I changed my location from my local neighborhood to “The Greater Pittsburgh Area”. These actions made my listings pop much more to the buyers’ eyes and it showed in the business I was receiving. People were more drawn to my products because I got better at selling without really talking to my prospects. So next time you feel like it’s time to pass on the cleats, or get rid of the bat and you hop on SidelineSwap (or Marketplace), try these techniques to discover the best sale.

This is very interesting, I like how you figured out how to sell better through failure and learning from your mistakes.
This seems like a great way to make money from selling things you don’t use before. I like your strategies of selling gear, and I think it relates to what we’ve talked about in class. Giving a professional presentation of the items builds trust and people will be more willing to buy from you.
I think that this an interesting way of selling. This goes to show that there is not only one way to sell. Especially with the internet there are so many different ways to do sales.
Wow! I didn’t know this existed. It seems so cool. I liked your language and structure of your post.
I’ve also used a sideline swap before Dan! It’s a site that was able to find its niche and thrives because they don’t have a lot of competition. It was a great post as it differs from the regular selling methods and shows how you can get creative in the sales process.
