In class today we learned about mimicking people (not in a way that mocks them, but in a way that matches the energy that they are showing us). This is a technique used by law enforcement when doing interrogations, they match the criminals behavior and this ends up leading to truth being told. Of course in sales that’s not the situation that we will find ourselves in, however using this technique can prove to be beneficial when talking to customers. Reading people’s energy is key when trying to help them in any way possible, if we do this we will be able to do what’s necessary when it comes to closing a deal with a customer. There will be many customers who give off different types of personalities, it is important that we keep in mind that we are here to help. All in all  when we use this technique subtly and show it as organic, then we give off a better sign of ourselves and meet eye to eye with our customers.

Matching people’s energy is so important and not talked about enough in day-to-day settings, and matching the energy of people you’re selling to can definitely help effectively sell to them.   2. I like how you specified to mimic in a way that doesn’t mock the client. Anytime I hear mimicking I think of siblings who copy what the other is saying to annoy them. I know that mimicking in a sales setting is less about mimicking what your client is saying and more about mimicking their posture and energy, but it’s always good to remember to mimic in moderation.
