We all know the man who teaches our classes, greets us readily on campus, and completely excludes happy grampa vibes, but what do we really know about this man who seems to singlehandedly run the entrepreneurship department?

Timothy Sweet has worked as a full-time professor at Grove City College Since 2010. Before this, he worked as a web development sales and sales manager where he “Sold web development products and services, created and implemented seminar-based sales methods, and managed a team of salespeople for web development and other Internet products.” He did that from 2000 to 2010. At the same company, Consolidated Communications, he worked as a web development manager from November 2008 to May 2010.

In September 2005 Sweet started his job at Grove City College as an Adjunct Professor. He taught a total of two-night classes each week. In May 2010 he became the associate professor of Entrepreneurship. This is when he became a full-time professor as he stopped his career at Consolidated Communications and committed to teaching the young minds of Grove City College Students. 3 years later he was promoted to Department of Entrepreneurship Chair.

These are some things you probably did not know about Sweet. Like most professors at GCC, Sweet graduated from here. What you probably didn’t know however is that he graduated with a Bachelors in Arts for Music. He also was the owner of an antique business for a total of 8 years, from 2006 to 2014. Overall, as anyone can tell, Timothy Sweet is truly an icon and a great mentor. His experience is deep and widespread and from just talking to him you can tell he cares for you. I continue to aspire to be the best salesperson I can just as Sweet has done.

  1. This seems a little creepy but I totally agree that Professor Sweet is awesome and has completely changed my viewpoint on selling and sales. The way that he uses direct examples of sales in our class really challenges our ability to sell and grow as people.

  2. Very cool blog post! Biggest regret in college is not taking as many of Sweet classes. Amazing professor and really lives out what he teaches in class.
