Staying Consistent In Your Training
For many people that start on a new task or activity, it is often easy for them to stay committed and consistent in their training early on in their journey. At some point, though, their mentality shifts and they begin to dread the activity that they enjoyed just a month earlier. There are a lot of different factors that can affect this desire and while some are uncombatable, many are able to be overcome.
One of the main factors that affect your desire to complete a task is your overall enjoyment of the task. If you don’t enjoy the activity then it will be very hard to stay motivated over a long period of time without some other supplement to make the task enjoyable. If you are struggling with this issue, there are a few great ideas you can implement to combat this issue. One great one is finding a group of people that are already doing this task and then you will have people to motivate and encourage you to stay committed. Another idea is you can find some of your friends and see if they want to join you in the task.
Another factor that can make you unmotivated is if you are constantly doing only this one activity. By not having variation you will start to experience burnout and that can cause you to lack motivation to complete the task. If you are able to factor in other activities you can mix it up and not be stuck doing the same thing every day. The activities you do don’t all have to be related to each other either, it is important to have variety in your life so that you don’t start to lump activities together and get burnout from a group of activities.
Being consistent in your training is super important to keep your body fit and healthy for your sport or activity. Being able to combat burnout and overall lack of motivation is very important to your success because you will feel these emotions at some point in your career.
