What Should Twirlers Wear to Practice?
As we get closer to a new twirling season, it is important for all twirlers-to-be to be aware of what is appropriate practice attire. On Mondays, the girls should come dressed and ready for class! We also ask that all hair is pulled back for classes and performances. During practice, a ponytail or bun works great, but for performances we ask for hair to be in a bun. Now let’s get back to dressing attire!
While at practice, the girls will be fairly active throughout their class and should dress accordingly. The girls should wear tops that they are able to move in and that will not get caught on the batons. The same idea goes for shorts or pants. They should be comfortable and easy to move in. We do ask girls not to wear skirts, dresses, or jeans to class. A skirt or dress can easily get caught on the baton and jean shorts or pants can be difficult to move in.
Finally, we ask that the girls wear comfortable and athletic shoes to practice. A simple sneaker or running shoe would work perfectly fine! The younger girls also have the option to purchase twirling shoes for $20. Twirling shoes can be worn during practices but may be required for performances depending on the child’s age. We encourage girls to stay away from wearing sandals, crocs, or other nonathletic shoes to practice.
We encourage all girls to dress in something they feel comfortable in and can move in freely. If you have any questions about what to wear, please contact Gina Stropkaj or Loretta Worsham with your questions.
