If you want to ranker higher on Google’s SERP, you need to be methodical. Start by working on the easy things within your control, then move to more challenging things if needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Choose a keyword<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      <\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      Find a page that could rank higher for its target keyword. You can use sites such as google ad keyword planner or Ahrefs to help. If you don’t have any first-page rankings, try to rank higher for keywords on page two or three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      2. Match Search Intent<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Search intent is the “why” behind the query. Align your page with search intent to stand the best chance at ranking. To do this you can use the three-C’s technique: Content type, content format, and content angle. How does your page communicate these? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      3. Cover the Topic in Full<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Even if your content aligns with search intent, you may not be giving searchers everything they want. Make sure to really understand the intent and specific ideas your searchers are looking for. An example would be searching a “how to” article, but in reality, they would really benefit from having a template to follow, making it easy for them to input their information. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      You can do lots of things to rank higher on Google, but without tackling the starting points, you won’t move the needle! Focus on the big picture at first!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
