How Modern SEO Practices Affect Content"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Often, when people think of SEO, if they know what it is at all, they are thinking of blog posts with too many keywords, content designed only to help a page rank, and other such outdated SEO practices. <a href=\"https:\/\/developers.google.com\/search\/docs\/fundamentals\/seo-starter-guide\">Modern SEO practices<\/a>, however, focus more on content that is genuinely valuable to the consumer, and lean more towards related keywords and natural search results. This focus on dynamic content, however, can result in a myriad of different content available to any given consumer. In this article, we&#8217;ll take a look at how a focus on SEO content has changed the content space online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quantity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the first effects of an increases focus on genuine SEO content is an increase in the amount of available content on any given topic. Google&#8217;s newer metrics for SERP rankings can mean that genuine, user focused content makes its way to the top of the search page. This can be a huge positive for a user attempting to find meaningful information. However, when every brand in a certain content space is attempting to make content around the topic, it can become overwhelming to try to find the most authoritative source. Often, the SERP presents the user with a myriad of options, and finding one that provides the best or most relevant information can be really difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quality<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A hugely positive effect that modern SEO practices have had is the quality of available content. Creators are shifting away from keyword-stuffed, short form blog posts. This means that the content that is out there tends to be of higher quality than before. So, when users are making a search, they are less likely to find content whose <em>only<\/em> purpose is to rank for SEO. If businesses are paying attention to Google&#8217;s guidelines on SEO, they know to focus on relevance to the user. This makes a huge difference towards a positive user experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does modern SEO mean for the future?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The search world has changed drastically as a result of SEO as a discipline. While Google&#8217;s newer updates to SEO guidelines place a focus on relevant content, the user must still be vigilant. What is the source of the information they are getting? Are they reliable? Or are they looking for a quick way to gain more conversions without creating genuinely useful content that they have authority on?
