In search engine optimization, there are many factors that play into having a successful website. One of which is keywords, and understanding keywords can really drive good user traffic to a site and satisfy the target audience you were aiming to satisfy in the first place. Solid keyword research brings many benefits, some of which we talked about in class too. First of which was that keywords provide insight into demand, and another similarly provides insight into the mind of a \u201csearch persona\u201d (which is your target user that you are trying to understand and satisfy). Efficient keywords are words that understand why the user searched what they searched. They understand the persona\u2019s mind, their need, their problem or interest that needs to be satisfied. Understanding why the user looks up what they do should be tied directly back to keywords. Another benefit is that keywords give direction for content. This is true because understanding why the user searches for what they do, what their need is, allows you to be able to provide the right content that they are looking for, that will satisfy them, that will connect with them. Keywords also give you better entrepreneurial focus, which is similar to the other benefits, but you will focus your efforts on the right things to connect with the user better. The last benefit we talked about was that keywords may cause you to pivot, especially with careful research, you may find more useful and relevant information that allows you to be more successful in search engine optimization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now there are many more benefits with keywords that I didn\u2019t mention, but the overall picture is they are critical for connecting with users efficiently. Keywords are important and useful for creating different dimensions of content that is suggested in a search. Keywords will identify specific topics and pages that a user is looking for when they type in the key word into a search engine. This is why understanding why your user is searching is so crucial, because the wrong keywords can lead to the wrong direction, but the more accurate keywords will deliver the right search results to a user. Keywords make you think about how you want to organize content, how you want to differentiate yourself from competitors, and, most importantly think about how you can meet the need or needs of the users that are visiting your site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bottom line is this: keywords are a vital part of search engine optimization. Keyword intent is crucial, understanding what the user means, what they want, why they search. Understanding all of that helps you to understand the pain of the user and to satisfy that need.
