If you read\u00a0Chapter 7, you&#8217;ll remember the author describing a study in which two groups are asked to rate proverbs based on their correlation to reality: does it fit with your experience?<\/p>\n<p>But there was a catch: one group was given rhyming proverbs, the other the same statements, but in a form that didn\u2019t rhyme. The result was truly astonishing. The rhyming ones were consistently ranked higher, even though the participants claimed the fact they rhymed made no difference.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, it did.
