For a previous class, Life Design Studio I interviewed my Aunt Heather. Heather Swift is a Grove City Graduate of 1994. At Grove City she was a communications major. She is the Senior Vice President of Ranstad <\/span>RisSmart<\/span>. Here she sells to human <\/span>resources<\/span> and employee <\/span>relations. Meaning when people lose their jobs, she helps them find new ones. She has been in sales for 23 years and adores it. She has a vibrant and outgoing personality drawing you in, she is very confident in herself which has helped her sell. She views her job as helping people find what they need and selling what they need to them. In today’s world, there are a lot of corrupt salesmen just simply trying to make money, while Heather makes a lot that has never been her primary goal, she has always wanted to change the stigma around sales and selling to helping people. Specific things she touched on in our interview were that\u00a0you need to be <\/span>resilience<\/span> and not take rejection to heart; be great at making connections; public speaking (speech tournaments) be able to have a good handshake and <\/span>eye connect;<\/span>\u00a0be able to have a conversation; find what people need and not what you are selling;<\/span> ask good questions and communicate; and to see your work as service to others and that will change the seeing process in total. <\/span>One story she told me about seeing God everywhere was when she got a new office placement and her office was on the lowest floor she was upset about the situation because she wanted to be up top looking into the clouds, on a specific day when she was going to work and something happened on her way to work so she had to stay home, she was very upset she could not go into work. That day the planes struck the twin towers, the buildings she was working in and her coworkers thanks to not being on the top floor made it out alive.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
