They key is shifting from a script based pitch to a real and genuine conversation in which builds trust and value with the prospect.<\/p>\n<p>The reason why cold calling still works to this day is that many people assume that it&#8217;s dead because of how much technology has advances in recent years.\u00a0 But research shows that cold calling still generates many leads and customers when done correctly.\u00a0 Another reason is the difference in spammy, high-pressured calls and strategic, relationship -focused calls.\u00a0 The difference between these two is astronomical and when you move from spammy calls to relationship-focused calls, you will have success.<\/p>\n<p>To be successful as cold calling you need have to shift from the mindset of &#8220;selling&#8221; to the mindset of &#8220;serving&#8221;.\u00a0 In order to do this, approach each call as an opportunity to help them rather than just sell to them.\u00a0 Also, if you truly believe in what your offering will help a prospect than you&#8217;re not interrupting them with your call but you actually solving a problem for them.<\/p>\n<p>If there is one truth in cold calling it&#8217;s this: you will hear &#8220;no.\u00a0 You are not going to get a yes with every call but the truth is, you will probably fail more than you succeed.\u00a0 BUT THAT&#8217;S OK!\u00a0 You need to fail and hear &#8220;no&#8221; in order to learn how to improve and be better so you hear &#8220;no&#8221; less and less.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t get down on yourself when you get rejected but instead, realize that this is an opportunity for you to learn and become better!<\/p>\n<p>Cold calling doesn&#8217;t have to feel like a dreaded chore.\u00a0 Because when done with the right mindset, strategy and persistence, it can be a powerful way to connect with the right people and create opportunities for new customers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The idea of cold calling often gets a bad reputation, but when it is done right it can be one of the most effective sales techniques.
