Today, I watched a video called \u201cHow to Cold Call for your Videography Business\u201d. Throughout the video, he called multiple car dealerships trying to land new clients. I\u2019m going to break down his method and talk about how his tactics can be applied to any sales situation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In each call, he was offering to come out and shoot a free video. He would say \u201cI\u2019m a local videographer and I was wondering if you would be interested in a free shoot\u201d. It\u2019s hard for people to say no to free things, so I think this is a great idea. In sales, if there\u2019s a way to give someone a taste of the product for free or let them try it before committing, I think that\u2019s something that you should absolutely be implementing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also was very casual when he was talking to the businesses. He talked to them like they were already acquainted and didn\u2019t sound like a salesman at all. He was upfront about his intentions &#8211; if they liked the free video then maybe they could work together in the future. I think that\u2019s another aspect that we can learn from. In sales, it\u2019s always good to be upfront about your intentions because that builds trust.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There was one call where the lady said that they already have a person that does it. At that point, it would have been really easy for him to say \u201cok\u201d and end it there. He instead asked if he could talk to a manager about it and said that he\u2019s willing to shoot for free and they can decide if they\u2019d like to work with him or not.
