In many of these sales blogs, I\u2019ve written about research that I\u2019ve done about getting new video clients. Today, I watched a YouTube video called \u201cHow To Get Retainer Clients as a Freelance Videographer\u201d. A retainer client is when a business signs a contract to work with you on a monthly or regular basis. This is the most effective way to scale a video agency. Here\u2019s some of the key points from the video that relate to sales.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main idea that he emphasized was how to convert a job to a retainer. He said after you get the client\u2019s budget, you give them 4 bracketed options. The cheapest option is the budget that they told you, the medium and high options are obviously going to be more. Between the three of them, the client is most likely to scrape together more money for the medium option. Then there\u2019s the fourth option: the retainer. If a company wants to grow their presence on social media, they might think that they need a really good video, but in reality they need to be consistently posting content that\u2019s relatable to their target market. As the salesmen, you have to be able to make them see the value in consistent content and bring it to their attention as an option.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the video, he also talked about who to reach out to for these sales. He said that the best people you can reach out to are people that you have worked with in the past and have been happy with your work. I think that this is very important and can be applied to any sales situation.
