This one, I just decided, is going to be different. Given that it\u2019s the last blog post that I will be writing for this class, I\u2019m choosing to use this as a reflection of the class and some ways that I\u2019ve been actually applying the concepts to my work.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One thing that has stuck with me is to always answer a question with another question. During my sales calls for video jobs, a lot of the time they will ask me questions up front that I shouldn\u2019t be answering until I have more info from them first. This is especially applicable when it comes to budget. Before this class, if a client asked about pricing, I would just throw out a number. Now, I feel more confident handling that part of the conversation and I\u2019m able to first hear about their goals and budget.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The other main point that I\u2019ve been able to apply is to always go for a call when prospecting. Now it seems obvious that that\u2019s what I should be doing, but I never really realized how often that should be applied. Since this class, I never talk too many details over email and have been setting up significantly more phone \/zoom calls to work out the deals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are several other things that I have taken from this class, and I hear Professor Sweet\u2019s voice in my head. Things like mimicry, real vs role you, and the 70\/30 rule have been coming to my mind during sales calls and interactions, and they have been very helpful.
