Before coming to Grove City College for athletics and academics I was slowly building my sales and business skills recreationally through hobbies. When I was younger during COVID, I discovered the world of street wear and sneaker reselling, and it ignited a passion and fire in me. I became obsessed with this world of buying and selling products through in person and online negotiations to see how rare and valuable I could get my collection. I’m very glad that I discovered this vast and imaginative community. I would wait in queues for hours online for rare and high value products and once I received those products, I would use my connections online or in person to sell for significant markups. Starting this at such a young age required me to learn very good negotiating and people skills at a young age, which is very valuable to have in the adult functioning world. I would go to conferences and events all over Florida to learn and practice these valuable habits. But it became an obsession learning how to make people say yes to a product. I researched all the time on how to move products and build profit faster and more efficiently. Profits and inventory became my life; every little detail mattered in such a fast pace high risk line of business. Thankfully these skills have paid off and built an incredibly good foundation for business, through my experience and connections and since then I’ve been able to apply them to real life scenarios such as recently over summer I was painting houses and garage floors. These skills came in handy a lot because who is going to have a 18-year-old paint their entire house and garage for thousands of dollars, that’s where my negotiation and people skills that I had learned many years ago came in handy. Now that that chapter of my life is over, I’m really hoping that through this class and past experiences I am able to grow my passion into something much bigger than I could imagine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
