We had a couple of online interviews over teams beforehand so it wasn&#8217;t the very first impression I had of them, but I was learning a ton of new things about the company by talking to employees in different departments about what they do. In a lot of ways there was selling going on from both sides. I was trying to sell myself to the company and they were trying to sell me on the thought of working there. For me, I was trying to do a good job of both selling my personality to the company as well as sell my expertise to the company. The principles of making good conversation and good insights while not overspeaking that we have discussed in this class were definitely on my mind throughout the interview. I did my best to make every word count without just rattling off all of the reasons why I think I would be valuable to the company without really carrying a conversation. On the other side, the company interviewing me did a great job of selling themselves as well. Looking back, everyone I interviewed with was asking me good questions that set me up to elaborate on my answer while also giving me plenty of time to talk myself. This experience was very interesting because as I keep thinking back on it I am able to identify more and more aspects of it that relate to sales.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past week I had an in person interview at a company I am interested in working for.
