Here are five steps to take your elevator pitch to the next\u00a0level.<\/p>\n<p>1) It\u2019s OK for it to sound a bit sales-y as long as the concept is clearly communicated. It is OK to use words like: <em>original<\/em>,<em> pioneering<\/em>,\u00a0<em>certified<\/em>, <em>leading<\/em> and <em>dominant<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>2) Check for \u201cstop\u201d words, or words that make the person you are speaking to take pause.<\/p>\n<p>3) Avoid &#8220;buzzwords&#8221; whenever possible. Phrases like:\u00a0<em>outside the box<\/em>, <em>streamline, synergy<\/em> and <em>paradigm shift<\/em>. Keep your message clear and concise.<\/p>\n<p>4) Try utilizing a question in your pitch.<\/p>\n<p>5) Know your business.\u00a0Try to communicate what makes your idea different than the rest of the market.
