{"id":302,"date":"2015-02-08T20:41:43","date_gmt":"2015-02-08T20:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/?p=302"},"modified":"2015-02-08T20:41:43","modified_gmt":"2015-02-08T20:41:43","slug":"patagonia-selling-with-a-cause","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/patagonia-selling-with-a-cause\/","title":{"rendered":"Patagonia | Selling with a Cause"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since the foudning of Patagnonia Inc. they have been doing things a little bit differently. \u00a0they have a counter cultural feel that pervades the entire business. \u00a0They have a freakish obsession with environmentalism (which I love) and a general culture that says, &#8220;if there is a status-quo, I must challenge it.&#8221; \u00a0All this stems from their founder Yvon Chouinard. \u00a0This is a business founded by hippies without high school diplomas. \u00a0From the get go, they ignored generally accepted business practices in search of a new way of doing things. \u00a0Today they are an established niche brand that sells some of the highest quality, most expensive, Eco-friendly, adventure clothing for the avid outdoors-man. \u00a0 So what is their selling method?<\/p>\n<p>I would argue that a large part of their success is the honest way they sell, brutal honesty. \u00a0Even if it means losing sales, Patagonia sticks to its cause and its dedication to a completely transparent and ethical supply chain. \u00a0Their down is completely traceable to the mills that they personally audit to meet their high levels of integrity.
