{"id":3530,"date":"2017-05-08T23:02:18","date_gmt":"2017-05-08T23:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/?p=3530"},"modified":"2017-05-08T23:02:18","modified_gmt":"2017-05-08T23:02:18","slug":"sales-fails-a-personal-story","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/sales-fails-a-personal-story\/","title":{"rendered":"Sales Fails; A Personal Story"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Throughout my sales experience which has just gotten to it&#8217;s one year anniversary, I can&#8217;t help but recall all the &#8220;fails&#8221; that have occurred throughout my experience. \u00a0Listed are upon some of the worst &#8220;fails&#8221; I&#8217;ve had selling Cutco Cutlery.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Driving to a client&#8217;s house 1 hour away and realizing I was 1 day early<\/li>\n<li>Showing up to a client&#8217;s house and realizing my knives were dirty with VARIOUS foods I had previously cut up (gross!)<\/li>\n<li>Sneezing almost every sentence because of the amount of CATS the prospect had (I&#8217;m allergic). \u00a0We had to do the rest of the demo outside.<\/li>\n<li>Using the bathroom during at someone&#8217;s house that didn&#8217;t have a door<\/li>\n<li>Forgetting about demonstrations and then last minute rushing to get to them<\/li>\n<li>Cutting myself (two different times)<\/li>\n<li>Showing up at the wrong house<\/li>\n<li>Mixing up 2 client&#8217;s orders ($1,000 order vs. $60)<\/li>\n<li>Not knowing if the prospect was male or female once<\/li>\n<li>112 demonstrations with NO SALES<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Throughout every fail, there is a new opportunity to learn and recover. \u00a0Thus, we should all embrace our failures and recognize that it is normal (especially in sales) and that the situation can ONLY get better.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Throughout my sales experience which has just gotten to it&#8217;s one year anniversary, I can&#8217;t help but recall all the &#8220;fails&#8221; that have occurred throughout my experience. \u00a0Listed are upon some of the worst &#8220;fails&#8221; I&#8217;ve had selling Cutco Cutlery.
