If you are selling a wide variety of products and services, your job may include you acting like a chameleon in order to understand your audience. When selling your product, it is essential that you know your buyer and connect with them. When you sell, you are essentially asking your client to part with an important resource for you. In order for this to be accomplished, there has to be a foundation of trust. My recommendation is to get to know your client very well before sales even comes up. Do your research. If you are trying to sell a middle school fashion trend, spend sometime with middle schoolers and gauge what it is they actually need, read up on their generation, identify what is important to them, and also keep in mind that while you are pitching to an audience, each member of that audience is an individual.
\nThis is where marketing is an essential part of business. Discovering opportunities in different target segments can create more sales than you can imagine.
