This piqued my interest as the\nterm \u201coperational planning\u201d struck me. I\u2019ve heard of \u201cstrategic planning\u201d before,\nbut never \u201coperational\u201d. Why is that? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the two terms are very similar, they\u2019re pretty different.\nStrategic planning has to do with setting long-term goals. The college famously\nundergoes this process every five years to evaluate where they intend to go\nover that period of time and choose what to focus their efforts on. Operational\nplanning takes these long-term goals and breaks them down into short-term,\nachievable goals to get to the long-term strategic goals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This got me thinking as to how you can incorporate this into\na sales process. If there\u2019s a client that poses a larger challenge than you\u2019re\nused to, you can easily break down the larger steps into smaller,\nprogress-based ones that can help you achieve more.
