When you go into one of these stores you are\ngreeted and are able to browse around and see all the different products, which\nfor me means spending entirely too much time trying out the products as well. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" data-src=\"http:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/makeup-1.gif\" alt=\"makeup gif 1\n\" class=\"wp-image-5805 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 480px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 480\/270;\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>With all of these\nproducts to try out, it seems rational for the employees to ask if you need any\nhelp or have any questions. While you&#8217;re covering your arms in highlighters,\neyeshadows, lipsticks, foundations, and more, your significant other and\/or family\nmembers are probably waiting outside being bored out of their minds, maybe even\ntrying to convince you to not spend anymore money on makeup! I have certainly\nbeen through this situation, and I&#8217;ve come to realize that they want to keep\nyou in that store for as long as possible. If you stay in the store, then\nyou&#8217;re more likely to find a product among the hundreds they have to buy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was thinking about\nhow the employees ask different types of questions in a makeup store, in\ncomparison to a normal clothes retail store. The questions are much more\npersonal than just &#8220;what brings you in today?&#8221; and they are more\ninterested in getting to what you already have and use, than just making a sale\nof whatever is in the store. This type of selling is something I would consider\nas &#8220;personal&#8221; selling. I tend to find this more intrusive, but more\nuseful. When we were discussing Clarity in class, I was contemplating how that\nmust be a huge part of a makeup sales process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since the employees\nare focused on finding the problem that needs solved, I think they are\nintrinsically using a form of sales without even knowing it.&nbsp; <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sephora, Ulta, even makeup counters at department stores, all give you the option of a different style of buyer\/seller interaction.
