{"id":6727,"date":"2020-03-12T19:24:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T19:24:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/?p=6727"},"modified":"2020-03-12T19:24:34","modified_gmt":"2020-03-12T19:24:34","slug":"reflections-on-zach-hanson-guest-speaker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gccwebsites.com\/startupsales\/reflections-on-zach-hanson-guest-speaker\/","title":{"rendered":"Reflections on Zach Hanson, Guest Speaker"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Whilst walking to MAP cafeteria yesterday and overhearing our class&#8217;s very own Zach Hanson discuss the techniques this season&#8217;s &#8220;Bachelor&#8221; employed to lose the trust of the audience (and I suppose maybe the women?), I was struck with a thought: the bachelor is a show all about sales. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thank you Prof Sweet for moderating as Zach and Chaz gave us illumination on how sales relationships can parallel with romantic relationships! Zach and Chaz, y&#8217;all did great, I think we all learned (and laughed together) a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Similarities between Sales and Relationships<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Trust is Key. You don&#8217;t want to move forward with someone you don&#8217;t trust, and in the end, trust is much more important to the relationship (either kind) than a charming introduction. <\/li><li>Each party has an end goal, throughout the process we&#8217;ll see how compatible these goals are. In dating, both parties have hopes and dreams for the end goal and those may or may not line up. If they don&#8217;t, same as in sales, it can still be a positive interaction to acknowledge this and move on. In sales, more than dating, it might be helpful to make a referral for someone who can fit the need better, although that has worked out for some couples.<\/li><li>Time and consistency are a good measure of genuineness. If the personality you show to a prospect is artificial, they might realize- especially over time- if you&#8217;re being inconsistent that the front is dishonest.
