There is no question that Spongebob Squarepants has helped shape much of the younger generation’s childhood. As a kid I was always perplexed how Spongebob always managed to influence those around him so effectively and until recently did I realize how powerful that ability really is. In the episode “Chocolate with Nuts” Spongebob and Patrick see a magazine in Squidward’s mailbox that promotes fancy living. They decide to pursue this life by going door to door selling chocolate bars. At first they encounter a prospect who loses his mind and chases them away. The other prospect sells them chocolate bar carrying bags and then disguises himself as someone else at the next house and sells them candy bar bag carrying bags. Feeling discouraged, Spongebob wonders why they haven’t sold anything yet. Patrick recalls that the people in the fancy living magazine became successful by using false advertisements to sell more product. Under the impression that the only way to sell their chocolate is by “stretching the truth”, they decide to go back out and lie to every prospect about their chocolate. Finally getting a taste of success, they go to the next house pretending to be injured in an effort to sell their chocolate to cover their medical expenses. A horribly disabled fish answers the door and takes pity from Spongebob and Patrick. He tells them the only way he has stayed alive is by telling chocolate bars. To no one’s surprise, they buy all of his chocolate, only to find out the “disabled fish” was the customer from before who sold them the chocolate bags. Right as they are about to give up, the lunatic that was chasing them from the before catches them and has them cornered. He then asks to buy all of their chocolate. This episode was personally one of my favorite episodes of all time because you learn that the right prospect might be someone you don’t expect.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
