Evolution of Search

Google has dominated search for a very long time, but it is interesting to look back and see what their mission was and how they ended up where they are now. For example, in 1997 they launched the Google website with their goal in mind of connecting the searchers to the best possible answer right away. This happened through a lot of trial and error and there was some difficulty with this. When someone would search what is the color of turquoise, there really is no explanation through a website to describe the color. Instead, they had to figure out ways to connect images to search so that the users could get a clear and concise answer. Flash forward almost 30 years and now Google strategy is still dominant.

In order to be the best search engine in the world, Google has really focused on the needs of the customer/consumer. They knew that ads had to be the provider of revenue, but they also knew that not all the users want to see those ads when they are searching for an answer.

Personally, I think it is amazing how advanced we have become. It can be a little scary at times knowing that AI is developing faster than ever before and were not really sure what to do with it. It is pretty crazy that everyone can walk around now with a world of information in their pocket.

Very cool to see the history of Google and how far Google has progressed in their customer-centric market. They do such an amazing job meeting the needs of their customers and get incredible amounts of popularity because of it. They also have done an incredible job from the top down of staying with the same mission and goal focused.
