I like how you brought up public speaking and writing as skills that are beneficial for SEO. I would not have thought about needing those skills for SEO, but I agree that it would be necessary especially if you have to speak on this topic. Social skills would also be helpful because it enables you to make business connections with others and, in the long run, can create a positive appearance for you and your business.

I really liked the approach of looking at what skills a successful SEO professional would need to have. I thought that the addition of social skills was interesting as I wouldn’t have considered social skills necessary for an SEO professional, but I can see your reasoning behind that point.

I think it’s really interesting how you are addressing the key qualities that can make someone successful at SEO. Critical thinking is definitely a very important quality to have when conducting keyword research and thinking about what content to create in order to build traffic. As you mentioned, writing and technical programming skills are also necessary when building content for a site. I also like how you including speaking and social skills, as generating traffic for a business involves talking to people for their insight.

You provided a thorough guide for those interested in furthering their careers in an SEO role. I like how with each skill addressed, you acknowledged the competitive edge that they provide you as a professional. For instance, your mention of how programming capabilities come in hand, however, you also note that they are not essential to work in the industry. Nonetheless, I think that you provided appropriate responses for why these skills are not only necessary but will help you land an initial job offer within the industry, essentially giving you a competitive advantage.
