Improve your rankings with White Hat SEO

“White hat SEO” is a crucial part of successful SEO. The term refers to the use of tactics and strategies that are in line with the recommendations articulated by major search engines, including Google. It generally refers to any technique that improves your website’s search ranking on a results page, while still maintaining ethical standards. White hat SEO is the opposite of black hat SEO, which uses aggressive tactics in order to improve rankings, but in a deceptive manner. Understanding these tactics is critical to ensuring that your page is on the right track and improving your traffic. Failure to use white hat strategies and engage in black hat practices can end with your site being banned from Google and other search engines.

But how should you implement these strategies? Here are a few suggestions to undoubtedly ensure that your SEO methods are strictly white hat.

  1. Offer quality content and services. – It’s important to create high-quality content that will meet the needs and solve the problems of the users. Discover the most relevant keywords for your site, then focus on using those words in great content.
  2. Use descriptive, keyword-rich meta tags. – Follow best practices when creating your meta descriptions to help users discover your content.
  3. Make your site easy to navigate. – When organizing the content of you site, be mindful of the structure. Sites that are easier to get around on usually perform better in search results.

I agree with this approach as it is much more trustworthy than black hat SEO. It gives the most genuine content and reaches the target audience to generate organic search results. It seems too risky to pay for black hat SEO techniques as the consequences are too much for the reward.

Google is really upping its game to encourage people to make simple, good sites. I think it still has improving to do especially with recognizing what makes a good site, but I think it is on a good trajectory.

It is great to see how much more beneficial White Hat SEO is to the user than Black Hat SEO. While Black Hat SEO can often come across as ‘spammy’ and unprofessional, White Hat SEO encourages descriptive, useful content that is easy for users to find with targeted keywords. I also like how you mentioned making your site easy to navigate, as this is a White Hat SEO technique that can greatly improve the user experience as they navigate your content.

This kind of information is crucial to any beginner in SEO as failure could result in some major consequences for their site, like being kicked off Google. Cutting corners in SEO is very problematic and I’m glad you made sure to point out that quality content and easy user experience is key. This reminds me of Google’s EEAT acronym. You need to have experience, expertise, authority, and (I think this is a big one) trustworthiness. Black Hat SEO is not trustworthy and it’s good you pointed that out.
