TikTok is now offering search, rivalling Google and Microsoft

Tiktok has begun to expand its offerings, moving into the search ads market. This places Tiktok as a rival to Google and Microsoft, who are both giants in the search market. Tiktok is planning to offer advertisers the opportunity to bid on select keywords and phrases specific to their product or service. This benefits the advertisers because they can find the keywords that perform best, leverage those high click through conversions as headlines, and see improved interaction from consumers. This new advancement for Tiktok comes after they began to make serious strides in the ad space market. The social media platform has seen immense growth over the past few years, with the platform ranking among the top used social media accounts. Tiktok saw the heavy traffic flowing through the app, and began allowing advertisers to post on the platform. The question is raised if users on Tiktok would view it as a search platform, but studies show that over 40% of young people searching for lunch, would do so on Tiktok. This does not mean that Tiktok will automatically take over the search market. Google has a substantial lead when it comes to search ad campaigns, making Tiktok’s advancement into the market risky, but bold.

    It’s interesting to see Tiktok expanding its offerings and entering into the SEO market. This expansion puts Tiktok in direct competition with large search engines like Google and Microsoft. By offering advertisers the opportunity to bid on specific keywords and phrases, Tiktok is providing them with a valuable tool to reach target audience’s and increase traffic with their consumers. I am not sure how much longer TikTok will be relevant as a form of SEO, but it is right now and I am interested to see where its future will lead.

    wow. Incredible article thank you, I had no idea Tik Tok was doing this not being a user myself. I will say the public should be careful however being that this app is China-owned and has no privacy policy and can see all that one searches. The dangers that can come from this app were expressed by Kanye West and I have to stand by the crazy guy on this one. Glad to see innovation through a well-used and efficient social media app though.

    TikTok is a great way to appeal to the younger generation. So many are on TikTok in general, it is an interesting idea for them to put themselves in the search market. I wonder if TikTok will end up taking up market space that has already been owned by Google.

    Man, in some ways, this post shows how out of date I am. I don’t have TikTok nor did I have any idea that they are offering a search engine. It’s pretty interesting just how many young people are searching for “lunch” on something that I thought was just for entertainment. Searching is truly such an incredibly wide subject it’s amazing.

    Tiktok is a rising influence in the online space. I am not surprised that it is creating a search platfrom that would rival google or other search engines. Maybe this is a good way to drive customers to your website and content!
