Domain authority is basically the score given to your domain (that’s the “apple” in apple.com) that determines where you will rank on the SERP. Your score will fall somewhere between 0 and 100. You can find your domain authority score by going to Moz Link Explorer and entering it there. The most important detail when evaluating domain authority scores is that your score is comparatively better than your competitors–not that your score is close to 100. If you are close to 100–great! But if your competitors have scores in the 30-40 range and you rank just above that, you’ll be fine too. Your goal is to have a higher domain authority than your competitors. It’s okay to dream big, but you also don’t have to be blogger.com (currently the highest ranking domain according to a list by Moz).
You can also use Moz to analyze your backlinks, which should give you an idea of what is affecting your domain authority score. Of course, other SEO tactics like content quality will help this as well.
