To Trend or not to Trend

Trends can be such helpful and effective hacks to help people memorize or remember things, or just to help them feel known and understood. In SEO, however, using a trend heavy approach means constant revamping to stay fresh. Whether or not the trade-off is worth it will depend on the website and who it is seeking to reach. Trends in the general scheme of things, however, I have come to see as very helpful. They are a means to communicate relevance, taste (hopefully), and humor. Brand personality comes out in the way a company handles its SEO. Whether that is because of keywords, or web-formatting, or any other piece, it communicates something. The site visitors will be reading something from it. Being able to be tastefully trendy is a deadly skill.
