GCC Intramural Sports – Finding your Team!

Grove City is dedicated to providing a place for everyone to find their group of people that they fit with and enjoy spending time with, whether that is in the campus life, the musical world, Greek groups or even the official sports like football, lacrosse, etc.

GCC offers intramural sports as a way to appeal to those who don’t have the time or the desire to join an official varsity sport. A few examples of these intramural sports are Spikeball, brawl stars, basketball, and cornhole. But, there are tons more that you can be apart of! Illustrated below are a few more Intramural sports that you can participate in!

Pickleball – Pickleball has been a growing sport in America and Grove City is adapting to what the consumers want. It is a fun way to spend time with friends and get extensive exercise! Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two players or four players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball.

Sand Volleyball – As many people enjoy volleyball and fun in the sun, we at Grove City would like to continue that enjoyment by offering sand volleyball! Volleyball is a team sport played by two teams of two players each on a sand court divided by a net. Similar to indoor volleyball, the objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent’s side of the court.

Brawl Stars – While we do have many exercising types of groups/sports; we also have gaming groups on campus that can be competetive and fun for those who have a little more of an indoor comftorability. Brawl Stars is an online multiplayer game that you can play with your friends. Continue to rank up and face tougher and tougher opponents!

Cornhole – For those who would like to play a more strategy based game; we have a wide group of sports/groups such as cornhole! Cornhole is a popular game in which players or teams take turns throwing fabric bean bags at a raised, angled board with a hole in its far end. The goal of the game is to score points by either landing a bag on the board or putting a bag through the hole.

Smash Bros – Coming back into the video game realm, playing smash bros can be a team and friendship building game. When playing, you have to work together or by yourself to knock off the competing opponents from the map in order to win the game! A great chance to build a connection with different people that have the same love of games as you do!

Spikeball – Spikeball is a fun sport you can play with friends and will often see people playing on the the fields on campus. It is a fun sport played in teams of two and can be enjoyed recreationally or competitively in Intramural sports. Spikeball is a sport that can be enjoyed by all ages and people of many different backgrounds!

Badminton – Badminton is a fun sport which is a spin-off of tennis but the birdie that you are hitting gets way more air time than a tennis ball. This is a fun sport that doesn’t require a ton of athletic prowess and can be picked up relatively quickly. This is another sport that is played in pairs and can be a fun bonding time for you and your teammate.

Basketball – Basketball is a sport that a lot of people are pretty familiar with. Many people on campus play basketball recreationally, but only a few actually make the cut to be on the official D3 team. Intramural basketball offers a chance to play basketball with a regulated schedule against multiple different teams and includes playoffs. There are usually at least A through C leagues, giving players multiple options with the level of difficultly they want to play against.

Soccer – Soccer is the most famous sport globally and why not play the Intramural sport at your college. For those seeking to relive their glory days in high school or just seeking to have a good time playing competitive soccer, this Intramural sport is for you! There are also options with different leagues including A and B options, with Co-ed options as well.

Softball – A lot of guys didn’t play softball in high school, but played baseball at some point or another. Softball is a more chill version of baseball that many different people can play for fun. The softball league gives the same energy as a good old kickball game for fun at your church or school. All of the guys playing are at bat and play in the outfield, so it gives players room to bond and learn.

Great post! Your use of imagery to split the sections is great and acts to grab the attention of the reader/viewer. Nice use of a video as well! – that might be the first time I’ve seen one used in a GCC SEO blog post so far. The only thing I might add is a section at the end of all the sports to sum things up and give a better sense of conclusion.
