How to improve your onsite SEO

When it comes to SEO, a marketer has more control over onsite optimization than offsite optimization. Once you analyze your website and realize how your website can be improved, it is easy to go in and start testing and making changes to improve your onsite SEO. Some important aspects of onsite optimization are crawlability, usability, security, and content. Learning how to improve these aspects and use them to your advantage is key to good onsite optimization. Below are just a few ways that you can start optimizing on your website.

First, take a look at your headers, meta description, title tag and alt tags. Headers are the titles or subtitles on your webpage. Optimize them by making sure they are relevant and include keywords. The meta description and title tag are listed on the search engine results page (SERP) when someone enters a query related to your webpage. Make sure that both the meta description and title tag are optimized by including keywords, relevant, up to date information. Also, make sure they are of a good length for the SERP. It is also important to include Alt tags for all of your images, so that the search engines know what the content of the image is and whether it is relevant to a person’s search query or not. Optimizing these things on your site can improve crawlability.

Another important element of onsite optimization is having a vast amount of content. Consistently putting out content lets the search engine know that your site is active, and can appeal to people browsing your website. Also, make sure that you have strong internal links.

Across your site, you should use relevant keywords in your content. Be sure that you are using effective keywords by doing plenty of keyword research beforehand. You do not want to commit to a keyword that is not going to bring in any traffic or conversions.

Yet another thing to take into consideration in regard to onsite optimization is usability. Make sure that your website is easily navigable, and functions properly and quickly. Also, make sure that your website is secure and that people who visit your site can tell that it is credible and trustworthy. One thing to note is that more and more people are searching on mobile devices. It is therefore imperative that you optimize your site not only for a laptop, but also for a mobile device. Search engines will take into account whether your website functions well on a mobile device when ranking it for the SERP.

These are just a few of the main ways that you can conduct onsite optimization. For more information, check out the link below, which I used to conduct research on this subject.

Understanding the key elements of onsite optimization are important to set up your site for success! I recognized a lot of the elements in your post, but I had forgotten about the aspect of having a vast amount of content. As you said, putting out a lot of content shows your site is active. It’s also important to make sure to post meaningful and accurate content. You do not want to just post anything in order to stay active but post information and content that is true and clear. It would start to be a problem if everyone posted content just to keep their site active. A plethora of false information would start to spread and create so many issues. This is something truly important that I had not really thought about prior to this post, so great job!
