SpyFu: An Excellent SEO Tool

Over the last couple of days in class, we have been discussing the various tools that you can use to research SEO for your own company; things like Google Analytics, Moz, and SemRush. One tool that I used during my time as an intern was an SEO research software called SpyFu.

SpyFu is another SEO research software that is focused primarily on keyword research and competitor analysis. In fact, competitor analysis is what makes SpyFu different from the competition. SpyFu allows the user to compare and contrast up to three different sites at once, ranking each site and it’s credibility based on things like SEO and PPC.

SpyFu is also great for backlinks. SpyFu is able to track backlinks from your site, and is able to rate how much of a help they are. SpyFu is also able to determine backlinks from unsavory sites, which may result in your site being blacklisted. You can have SpyFu take down those backlinks for you. SpyFu also gives you ideas on where you can place new backlinks to generate an even bigger boost in SEO.

Another thing that SpyFu is great for is creating ideas to increase PPC. SpyFu uses an AdWords advisor to fully unlock the capabilities of your PPC campaigns. Rather than having to shoot in the dark for your ad campaigns, SpyFu will automatically let you know the best way to run your campaigns, and even has the capability to help run them for you.

All in all, SpyFu is another powerful SEO tool to help all who work in digital marketing. During my internship, I really enjoyed using SpyFu, mainly because of it’s side-by-side comparison capabilities. Hopefully we learn about this powerful tool some day in class, as I think that it is right up there with the greats like Moz and Google Analytics. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I think it is an excellent tool for anyone wanting to increase their SEO presence or learn about their competitors and what is working for them.
