Blog post #3 – Best Tools for SEO

With all matters of SEO, to be honest, I tend to be overwhelmed. I feel like there are a million things you need to remember and know and a hundred more different tools and ways to go about it. This being said, I did a search on the best tools for SEO to hopefully get a better understanding of what needs to be done to optimize SEO and what tools I can use to help me. In this article, I will discuss some of the best tools according to the article 18 Best SEO Tools in 2025: Free & Paid Options by SEO.com according to different criteria.

Before we get started, I want to define SEO tools. According to the same article as above (18 Best SEO Tools in 2025: Free & Paid Options), an SEO tool can be a platform, browser extension, website plugin, or software program that enables users to track their analytics and performance of their website.

According to SEO.com, Google Analytics 4 and Moz Pro are the best DIY SEO Tools (meaning you don’t have to hire an expert, you can do it yourself!).

Google Trends, Keywords Everywhere, Yoast SEO, Grammarly, and Detailed SEO have the best onsite SEO tools (meaning they allow you to optimize individual pages of your site).

Ahrefs, Sitechecker, and SEMrush are the best off-page SEO tools (meaning they help with backlinks and linking strategy).

Pagespeed Insights, Structured Data Markup Helper, Screaming Frog, Bing Webmaster, and Google Search Console are the best technical SEO tools (meaning they help with how search engines crawl your site and index it).

ChatGPT and Surfer are the best AI SEO tools (provide insight into your site strategy).

Overall, I don’t think this helped me feel less overwhelmed as far as narrowing down the amount of SEO tools out there; however, I now understand that different tools perform different functions whereas before I think I thought they all did the same thing.
