5 Ways Ai Can’t Help You with your SEO Content

AI has proven to be a valuable tool for a variety of industries but can be especially useful when brainstorming ideas for content creation keyword combinations and persona development for SEO. While it’s important to explore resources and think outside the box when it comes to AI chatbots, it’s just as important to understand their limitations and not grow overly reliant on machine-generated content.

  1. Developing Personas from Scratch

While AI might be able to assist you in specific persona research, nothing can compete with interacting with your customer face-to-face and developing your own hypotheses. Performing customer research by Interviewing AI as if it is a potential customer is not effective and won’t help you connect with your target market by understanding their unique stories! Plus, in-person research can help you build valuable connections and spread the word about your brand while receiving valuable feedback.

2. Brainstorming Post Ideas

AI is a great resource for brainstorming post ideas and getting a general idea of content, but it can be easy to fully rely on ChatGPT and not explore your own ideas. AI is always going to be limited and can’t replace the unique experiences and interests you have that lead to your content ideas. AI is a good launching place if you’re feeling stuck, but collaborating with others and brain-dumping produce much richer and more varied results.

3. Understanding your Customers

No matter how much information you input into LLMs, they will never fully understand the complexity of the human element of your target market. While it can be immensely helpful to recruit ChatGPT, you are ultimately responsible for keeping up with and knowing your target market as humans, not as numbers or people to sell things to. Whether you are conscious of it or not, how much you know your audience will spill into your content.

4. Humor

As of now, LLMs are unable to relate to or generate humor. A key aspect of building relationships with individuals and treating stellar content is incorporating humor! This not only makes your content more engaging but it strips away the idea of a “business” relating to a “customer” and demonstrates that you truly know and care for the soul that is reading your words.

5. Human Needs

Ultimately your goal should be to create valuable content that meets the needs of your customers. While on the surface level the need may seem straightforward, ultimately as humans, we all strive for a sense of purpose and community. It’s not your job as a company or individual to fully provide this, but it is important to be aware of this innate desire when brainstorming effective ways to give value. ChatGPT can provide ideas that vaguely relate to this, but it is important to ensure your final ideas don’t understate this concept.

While AI, ChatGPT and other LLMs are incredibly valuable tools, it is important to understand their limitations and not lose your focus on the ultimate human relationship you are trying to achieve. While these tools can be incredibly efficient and time-saving, don’t get carried away and sacrifice the human piece of your content for the sake of productivity.

I think the idea of a blogpost on how AI can NOT help with SEO content is a unique idea. Many of us have been so focused on the new and exciting things AI can do, but it is good to be reminded that there are still many things that AI can’t replace when it comes to content. I am sure the amount that AI can’t do will be getting lesser and lesser in the future, but for now we should put some genuine human creativity into a lot of what we do.

I like the points you make here! AI is a fantastic tool for brainstorming, but it’s important not to lose sight of the human element in content creation.
