I just recently, over Christmas break, ordered the new iPhone 16 Pro. This phone comes with plenty of new upgrades, including a better camera (with a dedicated camera button on the side), the new Apple A18 Pro chip, and, what I find most interesting, the integration of Apple and ChatGPT. Apple and ChatGPT have teamed up to create a more responsive Siri, as well as a new image scanning and detection software. Firstly, I’d like to look at the Siri and ChatGPT teamup.

It is no surprise that Siri has been quite frustrating to use in the last couple of years before this iOS update. Previously, Siri would give the classic “I found this on the web for [insert term here]”. In a time where people are becoming more and more impatient, this answer was frustrating to say the least. Now, Siri works with ChatGPT to get you an answer instantly rather than forcing you to peruse the web yourself. This has a lot of implications for future SEO practices. Firstly, this means that most voice searches using Siri will come up with a ChatGPT answer. Companies need to begin placing more emphasis on the AI SEO. With more and more companies beginning to integrate AI into their searches, like Google, Apple, and Android, Companies must be able to see that this is not something that is going to just disappear. Secondly, I wanted to look at the new image detection that ChatGPT and Apple teamed up on.

Also new to iOS 18 and the iPhone 16 Pro is the power to search images through ChatGPT. This allows people to find out what an item may be, where it comes from, or how to get an item. This opens yet another door for SEO practices to come in. Companies need to begin making sure that they are using alt text for images, so that they can hope to be recognized by the image detection software and ChatGPT.
These new advances in technology are exciting, but also very fast paced. Just 2 years ago, AI was a joke, creating nonsensical sentences and answers. Now, it has become a lot of peoples own search engine. In this fast moving world, companies must be on their toes in capitalizing on these new advances, creating a better revenue stream for them and a better consumer experience.

I didn’t know the new iPhone had chat integration before this, but I think it’s a smart move and other people will definitely be following suit. I agree that voice search and AI SEO will become a lot more important with the new “technology epoch” of AI, but I find image detection even more interesting. It has so many applications across different fields and it’s a great time to capitalize on it.
Wow, this integration between Siri and ChatGPT is wild. It’s incredible how quickly AI is evolving, especially in voice search and image recognition.
